Hi, I’m Becca
My journey can simply be described as its’ own creative process. From as far back as I can remember, I’ve always had a love for 3 major things: art in any form, fitness/sports, & photography.
As a kid, I was always drawing, painting, and coloring, which also led to winning many coloring contests… hey, I have to brag about something, right? :) I think deep down I already knew in some way where my career would eventually take me, but i didn’t get here on a direct path.
Coming from a smaller high school, along with my short stature, I never thought I would go to the wnba or even play collegiate sports, but i knew i always wanted to stay active. Once I finished my first degree in Computer Animation out in Arizona, I moved back to the midwest (Sad, I know). I got back into working out and playing basketball at the gym, and eventually started working at the health club as a member services desk. My peers would see me working out a lot and saw my personal transformation as my time went on working there, and it was suggested that I become a certified personal trainer. Shortly after, i began my career as a personal trainer and i absolutely loved it! I loved being able to help motivate and guide people to their health and fitness goals. Unfortunately, the market crashed, i lost many clients because of the financial burdens they were facing and the income wasn’t consistent. I had done some design work for some of my clients during my time as a pt, so i figured that i should try to get my degree in graphic design.
Shortly thereafter, I pursued my degree in design and graduated with my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree, and just a couple months later, I found my first Design job. I began as a graphic designer, and eventually also did the photography and product videos for our products. I continued to do the same at my next couple jobs as well.
During the pandemic, I was really struggling to stay inside all the time, so it motivated me to really work on my photography skills. I have always absolutely LOVED taking photos, so I found a couple friends and we did some social distancing shoots outdoors. the streets in my town were empty, so we grabbed our gear and did some night shoots as well. One of these shoots even landed 3 of my photos in a published magazine! It felt like confirmation for me to continue to pursue more photography shoots, so here i am, trying to live my best life, doing the things that i am most passionate about.
More recently, I have found that I really enjoy baking and decorating cakes! I always wanted to know how to correctly frost a cake without getting all the cake crumbles in it, so i took a short class with my friend. From there on, any time I had a reason to make a cake, I would take the chance to practice with them. I’m definitely not a pro, but it has become another creative outlet for me when I need a break from my full time job as a designer.
I hope you enjoyed looking around my site and i hope that one day we might collaborate in one way or another.
